Leaving Ethiopia and Somalia in search of a better future, every year thousands of migrants make their way across the Eastern Migration Corridor, one of the world’s busiest migration routes. Migrants cross deserts, the sea, and war-torn Yemen hoping to find a job in the Arabian Peninsula and support their loved ones back home.
With funding from The United States Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), IOM assisted over 10,000 migrants in Somaliland and Puntland between 2020 and 2021. More efforts are needed to continue assisting all those migrating in search of a better future.
